Free Trials

OpenPatent Pro and the API have separate trials. No credit card is required for either one.

Pro trial

Eligible accounts receive 14 days of Pro access and 10,000 credits for the web app and hosted MCP server. Any unused trial credits expire when the trial ends.

Start the trial from the pricing page , Plan & Credits settings, or by making the first hosted MCP request that needs Subscription credits.

When the trial ends, the account returns to the free plan. It is not charged automatically.

API trial

Eligible accounts receive 10,000 API credits after creating their first API key. These credits:

never expire;
do not require a Pro subscription; and
are consumed only by direct API requests.

The API trial remains available if the account has not started a Pro trial, and using either trial does not consume the other.

Eligibility

Each trial is available once per eligible account. If you do not see a trial option, you may already have used it.
