Patent MCP Server

GoVeda Patent MCP Server connects your AI assistant to patent intelligence tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) . Search patents, retrieve full patent content, citations, attachments and ownership history, and generate patentability reports — all from within your AI workflow.

Authentication uses OAuth — your AI client opens a browser for you to sign in with your GoVeda account. Credits are shared with the GoVeda web app.

Check your credit balance anytime on the Plan & Credits page, or with the get_usage tool in Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. ChatGPT does not expose get_usage — check the web app instead. See MCP Pricing for what each tool costs.

Connect your AI assistant

Claude Desktop / claude.ai

Open Claude Desktop (or claude.ai ) → Settings → Connectors
Click the + button → Add custom connector
Fill in:
- Name: GoVeda Patent
- URL: https://mcp.goveda.com/mcp
Click Add. A browser window opens immediately to complete OAuth sign-in.

We are applying to be listed as an official connector. Once approved, you’ll be able to add GoVeda Patent directly from Browse connectors without manual configuration.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar — or open the GoVeda Patent plugin page directly
Search for GoVeda Patent and open it
Click Connect → Sign in with GoVeda Patent to finish OAuth sign-in
Type @GoVeda Patent in any chat to use it

Added it via Developer Mode before it was listed? Remove that manual connector and re-add it from the directory.

Search & discovery

`get_patent_attachments`	List the patent’s PDF / drawing attachments. Behind a feature flag — may not appear in your tool list.

Credits

Searches are tiered by result count (patent search from 50 credits, prior art search from 690 credits), a novelty report is a flat 720 credits, and content, assignee, and portfolio lookups are 1 credit each (batch patent retrieval bills per patent; portfolio pages bill per page). Status checks, classification lookup, and patent-reference discovery are free.
