Your First MCP Connection

GoVeda exposes its patent tools through an MCP server, so you can search patents, read claims, and generate reports directly inside Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible assistant.

This page gets you to your first result fast. For the full setup (Claude Desktop config, ChatGPT, API-key auth, troubleshooting), see the Patent MCP Server reference.

Connect your assistant

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add goveda-patent --transport http https://mcp.goveda.com/mcp

The first time you use a GoVeda tool, a browser window opens to sign in with your GoVeda account.

For the complete setup (config files, OAuth, and API-key auth), see the Patent MCP Server reference.

Run your first prompt

Open a new chat and paste:

Using GoVeda, find the most relevant recent patents on solid-state battery electrolytes and summarize the top 5 — for each give the publication number, assignee, and one line on what it covers.

Your assistant calls semantic_patent_search and returns ranked, real patents with assignees and one-line summaries, usually in under a minute.

Want more? The Use Case hub has copy-paste prompts for real workflows: competitive landscapes, SEP analysis, M&A due diligence, and more.

No credits? New accounts get a 14-day free trial (10,000 credits) automatically — it activates the first time your assistant makes a request that needs credits, with nothing to activate manually.
